It depends on how you use it. For daily writing, most people get 4–8 weeks from one 80-page notebook. Heavier writers and sketchers go through them faster, so many people keep a few on hand.

Yes. Every Pensift Notebook comes with a ribbon bookmark sewn into the spine. Like the lay-flat binding, it is built into the notebook itself — so you can mark your page and pick up exactly where you left off, every time.

The optional Italian Epsom leather cover holds your notebook on a single elastic loop — no rings, no clips, no metal spine. When a notebook is full, slide it out and slide a fresh one in. The cover stays slim because it is just a cover around one notebook.

Italian Epsom leather — a heat-pressed calfskin with a fine cross-hatched grain. It is scratch-resistant, lightweight, and does not absorb oils from your hands, so it keeps its appearance over time without darkening or developing patina. It is the same category of leather used in structured luxury goods, chosen because no other leather holds this slim, clean profile under daily use.

Wipe it with a dry cloth — that is usually enough. For a deeper clean, use a slightly damp microfiber cloth with water only. Avoid alcohol-based wipes, hand sanitiser, and solvents, which damage the protective top coat. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading.

The cover fits full JIS B6 (128 × 182 mm). ISO B6 (125 × 176 mm) notebooks will physically fit but with a slightly looser margin — about 3 mm extra width and 6 mm extra height — so we do not recommend it.

Each cover is cut from real leather, so there will be subtle grain variations and minor texture differences. This is normal and expected — no two covers are identical.

The Epsom leather cover is flexible, not rigid — it is designed to be used on a flat surface like a table or desk. It will not function like a hardback notebook on your lap or standing up. This is deliberate: a rigid cover would add bulk and weight, which goes against the slim, lay-flat design.
